Coming Out Of Grief – The Process And the Problem

This article deals with the stages of healing, healing your grief. Denial, anger, fear, and so on.

The most important distinction I can add is: check your cone of vision. If your cone of vision is narrow, everything is colored or filled with your grief: the context of life becomes your grief, independent of the content of life.

In addition to that, when you are grief stricken, you start interacting with unreality, and avoid reality.

If there is any hint of “no” in your thoughts, you are interacting with unreality. There is NO no in reality.

I learned this through my own grieving process almost 20 years ago, when my mother died.

She was in Hungary and I was in New Jersey. I didn’t even know she wasn’t well until after she died.

My whole grief was about what I didn’t, could not do, and what we could not do together.

All unreality.

When I came to terms with that, that all grieving is about unreality, I started to tell the truth about reality: I was in New Jersey and she was in Hungary and she died. If I am interested in doing all the things I planned to do with her: I surely will find the time and opportunity to do it with myself or with someone else.

Stabs of grief were still there, but only occasionally.

When you find what’s real, your love, your appreciation, you will have a time that if they could watch you, they would love to watch. Instead, they are watching you crying yourself into oblivion, turn to drinking, or sex, or gambling… If they could grieve, they would have a good reason now, watching you.

Grief strikes every one of us sometime or the other in our lives. Many of us find it difficult to come out of it. People get stuck in grief and find it unable to move forward. The situation is similar to a vehicle getting stuck in deep mud and not moving out of it despite frantic efforts made by people.

Coming out of grief is very important for us to progress. But several factors inhibit this process. The most important of them is the state of denial. Many people will find it difficult to accept the happening of a sad event. The obsessive belief ‘This cannot happen to me’ is so deeply entrenched in our minds that we refuse to see the reality that stands before us.

The grief can be the result of a natural event like the death of a person close to us, an unexpected financial loss etc. It can also be the result of someone acting against us. It can be an act of cheating, betrayal or just being let down by someone whom we trusted. The initial response will always be to deny the happening. This state of denial will persist for a while. We sometimes read about someone living with the corpse of a person dear to them for several days, unmindful of the stink emanating from the disintegrating body. These are examples of extreme states of denial.

The beginning is delayed but not by much

“A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct,” wrote science fiction author Frank Herbert.
Sometimes you need to go through extreme hardship to learn what you need to learn.

In the normal course of events, as soon as I have something, I announce it on these pages, and that’s that… the beginning is not taken delicate care of… and I don’t worry about the balances.

Let the chips fall where the chips fall, has been my slogan, and it has caused me considerable amount of suffering, physical, financial, mostly.

I have spent the last week under siege, being attacked 18-19 hours a day. Most of the time I was semi-conscious only, and mostly on conscious of the pain, contemplating my mortality, hoping to get an hour’s of clarity to leave life with the result I have sought and found: the key to the thousand years of peace.

Last night I gave up trying to hold it together and surrendered to whatever I have been connecting to it, and said the magic words: “I need help”

Yesterday I had a huge awakening.

A long held assessment of mine that I was a lousy business coach fall apart.

I have tried my hand on business coaching many times in the past 40 years, and every time I hated it. So I didn’t even gave myself an opportunity to do it badly… I fired the clients after one or two sessions.

Now, what has changed that I don’t think of myself as a bad business coach?

A whole lot…

I have students at all different stages of their personal paths.

I, as a coach, can do only so much. I answer their posts, and then I write my articles. And the rest happens where I am not. Inside them, in their interaction with people, in their interaction with stuff.

This is the hardest part.

My soul correction is Forget Thyself… meaning I want to be personally causing stuff… I did it, Me, Mine. Talking over people, having no patience for people doing things the “wrong way”.

I have been gaining ground in my soul correction, but it is still wicked difficult. Especially when someone has a good result that has nothing to do with me… lol.

So my first reaction to a student breakthrough is feeling let down… I didn’t do it… lol.

What Is Sleep Hypnosis And How Does It Work?

Hypnosis is mysterious and peculiar. It is not fully understood. Some therapists are taught a very diluted version of hypnosis and they market themselves with statements about hypnosis that are not true. They are true to the techniques they use, but not to hypnosis. Here are six common misconceptions about hypnosis and their relevance to effective change work. Some are encouraged by practicing therapists and some are just urban legends.

Hypnosis is a sleep like state

Hypnosis gets its name from the Greek God of sleep, Hypnos, which is misleading. Relaxation and sleep are two very common suggestions used in the induction process. The relaxed state you often see in hypnotised people is the acceptance of a suggestion, but it is not hypnosis. It is the effect not the cause.

In a stage show you will see the subjects slumped when the hypnotist is not using them, they look like they are asleep, puppets with their strings cut, yet as soon as the puppeteer gives them an instruction they jump to it – you do not do that when you are asleep. When they are doing what they are told as part of the performance – eating an onion or falling in love with a mop – in the reality that the hypnotist has given them they are in they still hypnotised and they are very definitely not asleep.

In therapy the client will spend a lot of time with their eyes closed in a relaxed state as in therapy the attention is turned inwards and so it makes sense to block out external stimulus, but they are not asleep, they are following instructions given to them by the hypnotist, rearranging their subconscious patterns and changing their lives.

A good therapist will ensure some sort of two way communication between themselves and the client so they can gauge the effectiveness of what they are doing as they go. This might involve talking with the client, asking for head nods or shakes or establishing Ideo Motor Responses which are tiny involuntary muscle movements – one for Yes and one for No. You cannot do that with someone who is asleep.

The most common phrase from a clients mouth when you wake them up is something along the lines of ‘that was weird’ – probably not the first phrase uttered each morning.

The Hypnotist cannot make you do anything you do not want to do!

Many hypnotherapists will claim this on their FAQ pages, they will tell you that you are completely in control throughout the session as many hypnotherapy schools teach this. Any therapist that claims this is not using hypnosis or they do not understand the tools of their own trade. Hypnosis is the acceptance of suggestion without question, without reservation, without inhibition and that is exactly why you go to hypnotist rather than a counsellor or psychotherapist which work with your conscious faculty at the pace you wish to go to try and get past problems – hypnosis removes your conscious critical faculty from the equation to get you fast results.

Without integrity nothing works.

What is nothing, and what does it mean “working?”

I will use two examples, both from my own students:

I sent out an email a few weeks ago offering the HOE long range, my famous Heaven on Earth in an audio format.I had a condition: they needed to share my work with people in their circles. 60 people promised to share. About 10 of those actually shared.

Those people are doing well. The rest of them? The HOE long range isn’t working for them.

What is the connection? Did I jinx the HOE long range?

Even her husband is changing…

When people change around you… who you are blaming? Where do you look for cause and effect? Do you know what causes what? I bet you don’t…

This is a case study of one of my coaching students…

I have been coaching people for about 30 years, and have been running my own programs for almost as many years.

Some people take their own transformation on, and they change. Some, I say, because most people don’t.

I have noticed that certain countries, certain cultures are more conducive for people take their own fate into their own hands… most aren’t.

And sometimes, these same people, cause massive transformation for their family, but are unaware of it, and therefore cannot make it permanent, cannot make it last, cannot even acknowledge it.

Life’s real purpose is self-actualization

Self-actualization is the process of becoming all you can become.
Who is to argue that ultimately that is what we all need. Innately!

There are two non-physical needs, according to Margoczi in the Feelings book.

The need to fulfill others’ expectations of us, and
the need to fulfill our own expectations of ourselves. Ultimately, optimally, what we can do… the realistic expectations.

Positive thinking and learned helplessness

Why do I fight positive thinking, why am I trashing it?
This morning I got to a realization: the students who are not making strides, not moving higher on the evolutionary scale are the students that are confusing ‘there is nothing wrong in reality’ with positive thinking.

Positive thinking says: avoid negativity. Turn your back to it. Make up something nice to say about things you don’t like, don’t want.
