How to find your real self… instead of honoring your false self as yourself

As I have written before, the book I am reading now is the Metaskills.

The author is a designer, and looks at life through a designer’s glasses.

The article “You live in a world of your own design” is one of the favorite articles on my site. People want to design their lives.

The popularity of the program, Mind Movies builds on that desire to design… but the requirements for design are not there, not there for 99.99% of humanity… What is there is something else, something that doesn’t allow for design.
The basics of being a designer is what is most missing in life… if you really look, you can see it.

There is no gene for the human spirit! There is, I say!

I never cheated in school. Never made a cheat sheet. I just prepared.

The one time I didn’t… I skipped school that day. It was in 1964.

I remember it because it was the one time. Never happened again.

OK, I didn’t say that so you can now hate me.
I just did what was mine to do.

But not in a dutiful way.

I actually find dutiful distasteful. Dutiful is taking cue from the outside, and it is always low vibration. Always feels like slavery, powerless, not fit for a human.

We all remember that dutiful kid… who never had fun. They were also often beaten up… because

Dutiful and fun, dutiful and playful, dutiful and joy don’t go together.

Cheat sheet to conquer your wayward emotions. What?!

One of my students is working on creating a cheat sheet for people who have difficulties in life.

Why a cheat sheet?

Because when you have difficulties in life you find it hard to even think, let alone look at the issue with sober eyes. Without emotions. Look at it like a math problem, or if you are not good at math, a missing ingredient problem in the kitchen.

And if you are normal, if your DNA is what 99.99% of people’s DNA, then you have many difficulties in life, even if no one knows about them. Sometimes even you don’t know… oops.

If adaptability is the most fundamental predictor of whether you thrive or survive…

…then your most important concern should be: how can I can more adaptable … right?

In you our relationship to life so you can have more chance for a happy life.
Darwin said that the species that is the most adaptable to changes will survive.
One can also say that it is true not just for a species but also for individuals.

Adaptable doesn’t mean meek, doesn’t mean able to subsist in suboptimal circumstances, it actually means being able to thrive no matter what’s going on. Adapt and initiate.

How to use what I teach to become all you can become… A roadmap…

I have given people driving directions in the ancient times where there was no gps and you could not google direction.

How did I do it? I drove the path several times, and took notes: what you see when you need to turn, what you see when you are still on the path, what you see when you went too far.

Looking back, decades later, and I see that this was training, preparation for what I am going to do in this article… give you “driving” directions to how to travel the path from where you are to where I am pointing you.

If that is where you wanted to get to, my directions are good. If that is not where you wanted to get to: you are reading the wrong articles.

The direction I am taking you is towards a destination where “One’s destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things.”… or more precisely a “new way of seeing things.”

Does Alex Jones, like children, believe his own B.S.?

Are humans even interested in transcendence?
Transcendence is growing through and beyond. And whether anyone says it or not, you always go beyond a stage when it is considered by you handled.

I am reading a book by the same author who wrote about the predatory genes in another book of his.

He is a novelist, a fiction writer, so anyone who takes everything he says at face value is like the people who listen to Alex Jones and take it like the truth… I even know one personally… ugh.

Anyway, I am reading this new book that just came out a few days ago. After a boring 110 page preamble he gets to the interesting stuff… about sentient life in the cosmos…

You want a better life? Want to avoid a life of quiet desperation? Resignation? Here is your path…

70% of your life is made up of the things you do every day… your habits. The remaining 30% is what you don’t have control over.
But even that 30%, where you don’t have control over what happens: you have control over how you react, how you do what you end up doing, and what is your attitude. My next article is about that… the how of your life.

Most programs you can buy make up what to teach. Given that the average truth value of programs is around 2%, what they teach must come untried, untested, and altogether not true.

Tai’s approach (Tai Lopez, 67 steps) was different. He looked at, primarily, billionaires, secondarily at famous scientists or other authors.

The truths he gleaned from billionaires: 30% truth value, the truths he gleaned from authors: 10% truth value. Hm, interesting.

Where does the difference come from?

What are you? Beauty, truth or goodness?

I am having an interesting conversation with one of my students.

The philosophy student…

He wants to write his thesis on the Feelings book, but he needs his thesis counselor’s support, maybe even his enthusiasm, or it is going to be a tough road to hoe.

It’s a sales job, or if you are a Landmark Education graduate: and enrollment job.

Enrollment is simple speaking in a way that the other person gets “touched, moved, and inspired” and may even be ready to move in the direction you describe.

You cannot do it if your “about you” score is too high. Because you don’t know what touches, moves, and inspires others. You may not even know what touches, moves and inspires you!

Unless you let yourself be inspired, touched, moved, you are dead my friend.

What touches, moves, inspires you is always from the beyond… beyond what you want. Beyond your self-interest. Beyond your me-myself-and-I. It is beyond what makes sense. It is beyond fear and concern for yourself.

How to turn yourself from a guppy into a majestic dolphin?

Trying to be funny? This is one of my sore spots watching movies or interacting with people in life…

I hate people when they are trying… trying to please me, trying to prove that they love me, trying to prove that they are already OK… They are trying my patience!
Rant finished… but I do want to talk about trying… forcing… about the smell of sweat and about the inauthenticity of it all.
You resort to trying because you are a twitchy little bastard. Because you want immediate gratification, but nothing worth having is going to give it to you, so you are covering up the fact that you don’t want what is worth having…

You don’t want to do what you CAN do now towards that which is worth having, because you only want to do what you WANT to do. what gives you immediate gratification.

And you refuse to be where you are, work with what you have, do what you can do to get to where you can, ultimately do what you want to do, be, or have.

And thus you give feeble and ineffective attempts. Or maybe just say you did?
I have had a number of conversations over the weekend that revealed a number of examples of this… trying.
All trying is misdirected in a way. What way? In the racket’s way.

What do I mean?
Here is what the rackets want you to do:
It gives you goals that are short term, useless, and it will pretend that they are your most important goals in life.

The goal is to prove that you can’t, that you are a victim, that you can never amount to much… and none of it is your fault. After all how could you when the bastards did whatever they did. You’ll feel bad, mope, play dead, all to prove that you definitely cannot do what there is to do.
Or it becomes your goal to look good, even though you haven’t done a darn thing, or not really. You are avoiding doing the things that ultimately would be the ‘darn things’ that earn you what you really want.
The goal becomes to to win at every step… every sentence… never to allow another person to win, even for a moment. So you jump and protest and justify and explain and force…You consider every person your opponent, your enemy and YOU.WILL.WIN! at all cost…
Your goal becomes to dominate the sh!t out of the conversation, to dominate the person, to twist their arm, and if that doesn’t work, resist resist resist… You force so much that if possible, you don’t even take any breaths while you do that. Yeah, that will take you to what you want… of course… who could doubt it?!
Or alternately your goal is to justify why you don’t want to do or can’t do what there is to do. To explain. To dominate.
Your goal is to remain an effect, never the cause, never to be on the hook, never to own life… to be like a dry leaf in the wind, so no one can call you to account.

Yeah, that is what the racket does…
The Monday Morning Memo is where the expression Twitchy Little Bastard came from. Ray Williams is an ad writer, and as such a businessman. And he draws the

Energetic Truth: ‘Trying’ Makes You Unsuccessful

Trying: the energetic truth why ‘trying’ backfires…

‘Trying’ is one of those words that have multiple meanings so you don’t catch that you are actually avoiding something.

Example: Trying something in a clothing store: you actually put it on and look and feel how it fits you.

But almost everywhere else trying means that you are not doing it, not putting it on, not attempting it, you are just giving it lip service.

There are all kinds of slogans, which, although they point in the right direction, use an invalid and untrue justification why you should follow them.

Let’s do an experiment: try to touch your nose. If you touched your nose, you didn’t understand the instructions. I didn’t say ‘touch your nose.’ I said TRY to touch your nose. Trying is NOT doing. Someone who is trying to do something behaves in one of two ways, neither of which is effective:
