Trying to change your worldview is like pissing in the wind…

Some 50 years ago I had a boyfriend who was a philosophy student in Hungary. I typed up his dissertation, and misunderstood a word: because in my worldview the word he wrote didn’t exist…

I am editing my chapter in the upcoming Entrepreneur’s Code book and I just got an insight.

Anything that doesn’t agree with your worldview will show up differently that it’s intended, as the word I mistyped 50 years ago.

I watched a few videos over the weekend, my first weekend in a long time when I wasn’t booked one way or another, to lead a course, for example.

I intend to understand what is happening in the world, and what it is that I can do about it.

What the heck is a worldview and why can’t you see it?

You can’t see your worldview. Or said more accurately: everything you see is a worldview.

View stands for what you see.

Your results, your lifestyle, your actions, your thoughts all come from your worldview.

That is why I likened it to the floor you walk on… before you can change your worldview, you need to be OK for suddenly not have a floor to walk on.

So changing your worldview is only possible if you are willing for the floor to disappear. I have been… Are you?

I had a friend during my participation in Landmark Education. She was an aspiring entrepreneur. Aspiring meaning: unsuccessful.

Why was she unsuccessful? She could do things. She had the appearance: she was tall, for example.

In one of our phone conversations she shared the elation when the cards flew off the board in Freecell… the sign of winning the game.

How I learned what I never expected from the Bach Profiles

In this article I follow the meandering path that took me to the Bach Profiles and the insight… bear with me…

People throw about words that even they don’t know what it means.

Framework, wireframe, system, and many more, but I’ll stick with these…

But before I attempt to shed light at what hell using these undefined words cover up, let’s look at this phenomenon of using words to hide meanings.

To hide intentions.

To hide evil inclination, agenda, manipulation, etc.

And the most surprising thing to me is this: seemingly intelligent people, the students, the buyers, echo the words…

If the seller didn’t know what they meant, the buyer surely doesn’t know.

I have been observing this in my Trumpist friends…

You can choose any color as long as it’s black

… said Henry Ford in 1909 to his sales people… From Quora

The phenomenon of wanting to please everyone, wanting everyone to like you… is the hallmark of slavish people, needy people, who can’t and won’t be successful at anything.

If you are an entrepreneur, unless you rein this neediness in, and internalize that no one needs to like you… you won’t be successful… because slaves are never successful.

Who are the people who really choose providers, coaches, teachers by who they like are the same people who won’t like you if and when you do what you need to do to take care of yourself. They consider you fodder… ‘I like my meat well done… I like my trainer to be nice, naive, and putty in my hands.’

No distinction.

Same if you are a whore of sorts…

Itch, pebble in your shoe… two more invisible dynamics

I woke up with a start. OMG… The switch… or the pebble… or whatever I called it!

The invisible dynamics is a system. It is like a machine. A complex machine… It takes in life as it could be, and it spits out your life as it is, having sucked all the juice out of it. Really.

That is the machine.

There are two kinds of complaints.

The first one you probably don’t know very well: this is the complaint that intends to move all concerned towards resolution. There is a commitment in the background to resolve the complaint, and remove it from existence.

I’ll talk more about it later, but for completion’s sake…

…let’s see the second kind of complaint. I call it idle complaint.

3 reasons you aren’t doing what you say you will do

You can learn nearly anything on the internet if you know how to learn.

And yet, if you look, people don’t learn much, don’t do much, and the momentary excitement, the big promises die almost as fast as they were born, leaving the promiser frustrated, and puzzled why they can’t keep their word, and actually do what they said they would do.

Confession Video?

Yesterday I was on a zoom training with a known videographer. He gave an assignment to us, participants, to make a five-minute ‘confession video’ of why we do what we do, being vulnerable, authentic, and firm in the declaration of the intention for what we do. Each their own… not as a group.

The call was in the evening, so I spent all my dreams pondering where was the point where I became who I am today… and what furnace did I come through to be that…

I participated in Landmark (formerly est training) for 26 years when I first decided that maybe it is my job to take Landmark’s teaching further.

I had offered myself to Landmark and was rejected several times. They needed straight delivery people, not thinkers. In spite of the rejections I never lost the confidence that I have what it takes to take Landmark’s work further, make it more accessible and more implementable, so it could make more difference in people’s results and sense of self.

But where was the turning point, where was the hero’s journey?

Why Shackleton’s famous ad was a lie

A course really begins when you sign up to it
Any course, any journey… A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step… says the Chinese proverb. If it doesn’t terrify you, then it will not be significant… then it will be just a walk in the park…

The guidance the Universe has for you is when you embark on something significant. If you have only enthusiasm, if you feel good about it… it means that it is either the wrong course of action, or won’t make a difference for you. Too easy.

Invisible Dynamic: Undeclared commitments: what is under the hood

My horoscope often tells me what I should be dealing with, either for myself, or for you and me.

This is the horoscope I received in my email box today, from Rob Brezsny:
If you were a snake, it would be a fine time to molt your skin. If you were a river, it would be a perfect moment to overflow your banks in a spring flood. If you were an office worker, it would be an excellent phase to trade in your claustrophobic cubicle for a spacious new niche. In other words, you are primed to outgrow at least one of your containers. The boundaries you knew you would have to transgress (step over the boundary, infringe or go beyond the bounds of) some day are finally ready to be transgressed. Even now, your attention span is expanding and your imagination is stretching.
Obviously he uses the word “transgress” to express that you are in some self imposed prison, he calls it container. Rob Brezsny is a typical California positive language dude… not a straight talk dude, like myself.

Now, whether it is addressed to me, or whether it is addressed to us, I am going to attend to both aspect.

The first thing to examine where it is where “we”, you and me, consider certainty, security, knowing more comfortable than stretching.
