My teacher, Robert Hartman famously said: to know good you need to study evil. To turn your life around, you need to study what keeps you stuck.
As I am gearing up to teach the machine that we call the racket, I am getting emails from participants, people who registered in the workshop.
Those who are smart (not many :-\ ) come prepared. Armed in having witnessed enough of the distinction and the process to be able to recognize it on themselves by buying the Racket Course… have questions.
I am sure the rest of them want me to do all the work, and make them good, pretty, slim, smart, happy, rich… did I leave anything out?
The racket is a machine. It has a trigger that is an on-switch… and it even has an off-switch.

Are humans powerless against their base nature?
The most common human experience is powerlessness… Powerless in the face of outside and inside forces…
Humans are a weird animal. They consider themselves smart… but smart people don’t act like victims. They are proud of their big brains… but don’t use it.
The dividing line between being a lower species and a higher species is the ability to take responsibility for one’s actions, for one’s life.
But responsibility is an inner dialog…using that big brain to actually get some clarity about what that lower species self is doing, has done, is planning, so one can take over and drive that life of yours.

You believe many impossible things to get a dopamine rush
Imagine the scenario. The guy gets on one knee, pulls out a little box from his pocket, opens it to show a beautiful ring… and asks: Will you marry me? And the woman answers: I am willing to marry you…
Oops… all the magic is gone.
Or maybe the woman answers: I will commit… When? asks the distraught guy… putting away the ring… weeping inward.
Not romantic, not straightforward… very um, I don’t even have a word for it.

Okay. This is part two for whatever day it is. Thursday. So what I said in the previous segment is that until you can tell the difference between what you say and what the machine says, there’s no chance that you can change your context. Now, it’s a little bit deeper than that. Because … and that’s why without integrity nothing works. It’s an integrity issue. Now, we consider integrity in a very pedestrian way. You don’t cheat, you don’t lie, you keep the Ten Commandments and all that morality issue. But, that is not what integrity really is.
Integrity is that, but it is just the bottom of integrity. The real integrity has something to do with word.
