What do you want, really? or asked differently What do you really want?

The answer is in the values you choose to love…

I have been harping on values… and it is as if I were speaking in an auditorium where my voice doesn’t, can’t carry… there is no echo.

Nothing and no one indicating that they are hearing me, that they are pondering, that the question is heard and taken on as a quest to answer, to ponder, to be taken with you to sleep, to your meditation, to your walks, so you eventually come up with something you value.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Community cannot for long feed on itself; it can only flourish with the coming of others from beyond, their unknown and undiscovered brothers.

During times of war, hatred becomes quite respectable even though it has to masquerade often under the guise of patriotism.

– Howard Thurman (1900 – 1981)

There are two kinds of values, temporary/transitory and eternal.

What is the difference between identity and Self? Do you have a Self?

Let’s talk about identification a little more… the identification that gives you the illusion that you are a person, but in fact it what is standing between you and becoming a person.

So what is a person? A person is someone who has a consciousness, a Self, that guides their actions, their relationship to life. When you ask: who is he? show is she? what comes up is not what they do for a living, what awards they won, how well or poorly they do their job… but something deeper and constant… They are that everywhere, on the job, in the public, in the bedroom… everywhere.

If you identify yourself with stuff on the periphery of your being, on the horizontal plane, what you say about yourself, what you want people to know is that you have won an Emmy, three time…

Or that you have had HIV for twenty years going
Or that you are gay
Or that you are black

And alas, it leaves you with no Self. The stuff you identify with has no consciousness, and have no defining power on your character.
Let’s do a little quiz: Which of these people/characters have a self?

What do you need to learn to become a Self?

No one looks at Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as showing you what you need to work on next.

And given that only a minuscule percentage of the population ever reaches the higher levels of the needs, that is a stupid thing to do.

You don’t automatically advance to the higher levels, no matter how much “high” desire you have, no matter how empty you feel, how locked in you feel, how much you hate that you are meek, or abused, or have no freedom.

It takes work, courage, and ingenuity. f… RIGHT?

Ingenuity? You surely don’t have that. You can argue, you can fight, you can yell, you can complain, you can run away… but ingenuity? Not something you engage in.

How To Stay Broke Forever

If you ever wondered where guidance comes from, here is a great example, from about 10 minutes ago.

In an email conversation, one of my “interns” was commiserating with me… because the refrigerator died again, and this time there is no excuse: it needs to be replaced.

But… in order to bring in a new one, I have to push stuff aside, clean the old one from now rotting stuff… and I feel very weak to even contemplate doing it.

So she says (my intern): “and everything feels heavy when you’re weak.”

Lucky formulation of a sentence… because it woke me up. This, what she says, is true across the board. It is true in the physical realm, and it is even more true in the “psychological” realm: if you feel weak you’ll do little.

And most people feel weak all the time. Their intellectual and physical exercise is from the car to the grocery store, or from the couch to the refrigerator.

There is a secret switch at 200 vibration… so secret you miss it unless you are told

…in fact, without that secret switch you can’t really get to 200 vibration, and if by accident (siphoning someone else’s energy) you got there… you’ll lose it… because to get to 200 and stay there… you need this capacity…

Everyone has a good firm suggestion what is the most important spiritual capacity of a person who’ll go far… very far, or at least as far as experiencing the good life goes…
Because the good life is not very far… no matter what anyone says.
The main difference between someone who is living the good, the excellent life, and someone who is struggling, trying to get to the good life is not on the outside.

Come from your strengths… Know Thyself… they say… But there are two approaches to self-actualization with dramatically different outcomes

Self-actualization is the process of becoming all you can become.

Who is to argue that ultimately that is what we all need!
Or if we want to go deeper, that need to self-actualization aka BEING is our soul’s desire… while our ego wants to own, to have and to control the environment, others.
So soul wants you to be… happy, fulfilled, vibrant… and the ego suggests that the path to happiness etc. leads through possession, aka control.
The nature of reality is that everything comes from a root cause… and that is being….

We all want to feel motivated. But we are all taught to go about it the wrong way

Inner motivation vs. Outer motivation… choose! Being motivated inwardly or outwardly. By returning to inner motivation you return to the childlike joy you remember so fondly…

Real motivation is like inspiration: being pulled into doing something, instead of being pushed into efforting and trying and all the horizontal plane feelings: having to, needing to, wanting to, and should. These are not present when you are motivated: you are just doing what you are doing because it’s fun, because it is interesting, because it is there to do… for its own sake.

Ambition, motivation, and will power… which one will give you a life worth living?

Today the sky is open and the motive power of the Universe can be downloaded. I’ll be doing it in a few minutes.

That energy, the Day of Power energy is what powers the spirit inside. The spirit that expresses itself, makes itself felt in you. If you refuse to move with it, the pressure is tremendous. In creativity it is the energy that pushes you to go beyond the limitation of the horizontal plane.

This article examines what makes you move, choose, act… Worth reading.

The four questions…

Humility is the opposite of my soul correction: Forget Thyself.

Every single human, whether they admit it or not, feel above average, and smarter than most everyone… and Forget Thyself is the worst.

It is a daily practice of mine to make myself a learning machine… learn from everyone, including my students.

Humility… it’s actually very hard… you need to give credit where credit is due, and every time, it’s human nature, you experience the marker feelings that come along with comparison: someone is better than me… therefore I must be no good.

And to maintain self-confidence at the same time… really requires the mastery the Playground program promises.
