Getting to Abundance one Step At A Time – Practicing The Feeling Of Freedom And Power Through Contributing To It

Churches, communities, etc. ask you to contribute. And you comply: you volunteer, you give away your old winter coat, you give food, or money.

But as in everything, context is decisive.

What’s the context in their request? That you support the less fortunate. There is morality: you can afford and therefore you should, and there is shaming… you don’t eat your food and little kids starve in Africa, or “be generous and earn the Kingdom of Heaven” b.s.

All of these make you a wretch. And not just you, anyone. Why? Because context is decisive.

Nature, trees, animals, do not willingly give what they have, unless they have a selfish reason for it. Not a feeling, but a direct benefit. And nature is fine, thank you, and no one suffers. No morality, no shoulds, just good old selfishness. Surprised? Good.

Being guided is the weirdest of anything you can imagine

I remember, in the “Ultimate Leadership” course, being guided around land mines while my eyes were closed. The issue of trust, trusting my life to another human being was something I still have nightmares about today. The course was almost 10 years ago.

But in that exercise I knew the outcome, so I could keep it in my mind’s eye as “that’s what will be the result if all goes as planned.”

Will the Soul in you cry when it’s time to die, or is it going sigh a sigh of relief that the boredom is ending?

I have been pondering what is the Soul’s attitude, the Soul’s relationship to dying.

After all the Soul is immortal, at least relative to the physical body. But what does it mean? How does it feel? What does the Soul think about that? And does the Soul come back and know it has been here before? And how does it relate to the new body, if that is how it work?

Great questions, no answers until this morning.

You may know the price of everything and the value of nothing

I had a very interesting conversation, in email, with one of my long time students.

It belies one of the fundamental needs of a human: being paid attention to.

You could say: every child is paid attention to, you work for them, you clean them, to feed them, you put them to bed, but being paid attention to is different. It is a need to be personally noticed, considered, and in some way validated… or something breaks inside.

It is hard to estimate how many children suffer from the lack of fulfillment of this need.

Are you on the right track… integrity… compass… conscience. Is there such a thing as a path?

The biggest issues that I see students deal with are around the fear of taking a wrong step.

The underlying belief, the underlying assumption is that the soul’s path, your life’s work is a straight line and unless you are on that line, you are off.

This is a very debilitating belief. It is perpetuated by the ego: the ego wants to minimize your investment, and maximize your gains, and it fancies itself to know what you should do.

In the case of life path, what’s next for you, etc. questions, it opts to no action, no change… after all the ego’s job is to keep you safe, and safe, when the ego looks, is mostly staying the safe. You have survived until that point, after all. The ego is interested in looking good and surviving.

The ego’s interest and the soul’s interest are diametrically opposed. The soul wants you to move, to take risks, to have a learning experience. But most importantly, the soul wants your life, your activities, your path to have a direction.

The get into action activator, or how to accomplish things in your life

Dear Sophie, I’ve purchased three audio activators so far, and all I can say is… you deliver. The – Get Into Action activator should be subtitled – how to get organized immediately.
When you read that, you should say: I want that for myself. Really.

There are two types of people.

Type One: They live a vegetable life. They have no ambition, they are not up to anything. They may have some higher aspirations tickled when they watch a movie, for example, but they don’t see that living, thriving, accomplishing is for them.
Type Two: The second group sees that life is pretty much what you make it… but they lack the motive power to rise to the occasion. They want to, they’d like to, they dream about it, they may even plan to live a life suitable for a human being, but gravity, insistence on comfort, safety, pulls them too much.

Soul Correction: Sweetening Judgment

SWEETENING JUDGMENT

Every word we speak, every action we perform, is a boomerang flung into the cosmos. All these billions of boomerangs inevitably return to our lives – the positive ones and all the negative ones.

This Name soul correction helps us to alter the amount and the direction negative boomerangs that come hurling toward us.

Though we’re not aware of it, any negative behavior – even if it seems very minor – brings destructive forces into play. Whenever we speak in an uncivil or rude manner; whenever we cheat, lie, steal, insult, or harm other people – Pop! – we create a force of judgment. These negative forces are the unseen cause behind all the things that just “happen” to go wrong in our lives.

You Are Making Bad Decisions Emotionally

I wrote this article about making decisions emotionally back in 2013… and reading it was amazing: I actually now see how far I have come…

OK, here is the original article:

You are not stupid, you are just making your decisions emotionally
‘If you want to live with the masses, think emotionally. If you want to live with the middle class, think positively. If you want live with the world class, think critically.’ –Steve Siebold
I have been impulsive and hasty as long as I can remember. And I have known myself, by my results, stupid, stupid as the stupid does, as long as I remember.

My results in any endeavor, any relationship, and the business of life have been anything but stellar. Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes.

The past 4-5 years I have been paying attention, but bad habits die slowly or never, and I am, for the most part, behaving the same way as I behaved all my life, hasty moves, jumping into conclusions, only to discover moments or days later that I didn’t look before I leaped.

I wish I were flawless, but then I would be useless as a teacher: when you are effortlessly good at something, then you can’t teach it: you have no distinctions in the area of your expertise. Only when you can go, through your own awareness, from bad to good, that you have something useful to offer to the world that wants to follow you.

This is the main issue, by the way, with many of the famed and revered teachers, like Osho or Eckhart Tolle. They are really nice to read, very nurturing, but impossible to follow. Because they never went from where you are to where they are… they somehow found themselves there, using none of their own effort.

How do you block the flow?

Some questions come up again and again… especially for readers of my articles.

One of them goes like this: how come someone with a vibration and consciousness much lower than mine can make so much more money than I do?

Or, for me, how come I sometimes make money, other times I don’t? What about me that changes from one time to another?

These are very important questions to answer. For each and every one of us wants to get the most we can get, if we can get it… right?

Brilliance, Digging For Gold, Soul Desire, And Eavesdrop On My Private Conversations…

Brilliance, Digging For Gold, Soul Desire, And Eavesdrop On My Private Conversations…

I was on the phone with a friend of mine this morning. We started out in a mastermind. Every other member fell away, but we have been talking, every Sunday at 9 am, for seven years now.

In mastermind, the most important ingredient is: you get to say what’s up, out loud and be heard. This is really important, because the people in your life can’t hear you: they have too much past that interferes, too much vested interest in the way: they will not be able to hear you. But on a mastermind of people with no investment in you being anything other than you are, you can speak, and you can be heard.

I heard somewhere, I can’t remember when, can’t remember where, that “It is hard to be silently brilliant, lots of thoughts occur when you open your mouth.”

I always wanted to be brilliant. And I always knew that brilliance was like gold, hidden in layers and layers of dirt, sometimes deep, and you need to dig for it.
