What separates humans from other species, yes even the dolphins, is language.

So we have language. Language that hasn’t evolved for, I don’t actually know, but let’s say tens of thousands of years, and yet we know nothing about communicating.

I even see people call The Communication Course, communications course… with plural.

What does that signal to me? That they don’t think that there is such a thing as communication, only instances of it.

You think that talking, telling someone to do something or not do something is communication.

Unfortunately for you, for humanity, all the communications put together don’t add up to Communication… Continue reading What separates humans from other species, yes even the dolphins, is language.

Not as successful as you would like to be?

What prevents you from growing, what prevents you from becoming all you can become?

Ambition is what makes people grow, ambition is what makes people accomplish things that are not easy.

But ambition is kept in check… as I said above, by desire that everybody says is good for you… Bah humbug.

Let’s see what the words actually mean before we continue.

Ambition is directing your motive power, your inner motive power towards the accomplishment of something: learning, building, mastering. In my view, the beingness view: ambition is the willingness to go/do for what you want. Continue reading Not as successful as you would like to be?

The story behind the story

The story behind the story, behind the story, behind the story…

The invisible parts of the story is also a story.

A story can be just the telling of what happened and all the thoughts, emotions, interpretions the teller of the story added.

The tricky thing is to see all the stories… and then see what actually happened in reality separate from what you made up about it.

In digging for the itch, the need that wasn’t provided in an incident, that was deliberately taken away, and now running our lives, we experienced this layeredness of the story…

Everybody’s, including my own. Continue reading The story behind the story

Why it is normal to be miserable: the itch you are trying to scratch

The consolation prize you get, instead of a rich and fulfilling life

We all have it… unnoticed, unidentified, undistinguished, sneaking past your conscious awareness, the strings that make you a puppet on a string, robbing you of your life, using it for its own purposes… laughing at you. I can hear the laugh.

The racket. The insidious, ubiquitous racket.

It is a machine… and it is powered by an unfulfilled and unfillable desire, I call The Itch… the itch that cannot be scratched.

The desire for attention, for significance, for winning every transaction, for love, for filling your gaping hole inside. Continue reading Why it is normal to be miserable: the itch you are trying to scratch

Unless you define what is success for you, you can’t become successful

I sleep poorly the night before every Playground session. It takes me hours to fall asleep, and I have trouble filled dreams.

So when I got up this past Saturday, it was freezing cold, in the single digits outside… single digits in Fahrenheit is very cold… double digits in the minus in Celsius.

So I pondered what I had to look forward that day.

For a long time, for years, when I looked, when I asked that question, I only saw one thing to look forward to: my morning tea. Rich British Blend Tetley with full fat milk… Continue reading Unless you define what is success for you, you can’t become successful

People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care

…poet and filmmaker Jean Cocteau said.

  • 1. There are truths that you can only say after having won the right to say them.
  • 2. True realism consists in revealing the surprising things that habit keeps covered and prevents us from seeing.
  • 3. What the public criticizes in you, cultivate. It is you.
  • 4. You should always talk well about yourself! The word spreads around, and in the end, no one remembers where it started.
  • 5. We shelter an angel within us. We must be the guardians of that angel.

IF THE ANGEL DECIDES TO COME . . .

‘If the Angel decides to come it will be because you have convinced her, not by tears, but by your humble resolve to be always beginning; to be a beginner.’ ~ Rainer Maria Rilke Continue reading People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care

Why is it that you look at a successful person and even if you copy all their actions, even if you copy their attitude the way they tell you, you won’t be able to duplicate their success?

This is an article I wrote almost 8 years ago…

Why is it that you look at a successful person and even if you copy all their actions, even if you copy their attitude the way they tell you, you won’t be able to duplicate their success?

I have been slacking off growing, i.e. didn’t do much to grow, and I noticed. Not for a long time, maybe a week or two, but I have started to notice. Just like athletes notice the imperceptible signs of muscle atrophy and weakening when they are on vacation.

It is very easy to go to this mode… easier than to go back to growth mode.

It’s easy, because 99% of the population is there, at any one time. Most people over 18, as a matter of fact, and most people under 18… lol, not funny.

Kabbalists say: the bible is code. They, of course, mean: the Old Testament, the 5 books of Moses

Kabbalists say: the bible is code. They, of course, mean: the Old Testament, the 5 books of Moses.

If the Bible is code, then it is not a story… or if there is a story there, it is itself code: meaning an illustration of a principle.

Egypt stands for slavery. Slavery to whatever people are a slave to: riches, significance, sex, entertainment, desire to receive for the self alone, their racket, the racket with which they extort goodies from others, justify their nastiness, their domination, their haplessness.

Extorting sympathy, or whatever they extort.

So what did Moses do with this bunch of slaves? Continue reading Kabbalists say: the bible is code. They, of course, mean: the Old Testament, the 5 books of Moses

Removing Barriers to you being all-you-can-be

I just read an excerpt of Mark Manson’s (vibration: 260) book, about the path to growing… The art of not giving a f*ck –>
Even the brief is worth reading…

Some people write better than me. Some people find solutions faster than me. Some people can teach ME things… Baah, right?

What Manson says is the essence of the Michelangelo Method of growing.

You remove everything that doesn’t work, everything that is not you, everything that doesn’t support you in living life you love and living it powerfully.

But the sticky part of this process is telling the truth about having been wrong. Continue reading Removing Barriers to you being all-you-can-be

So you want to be important… liked… relevant… belonging.

So you want to be important… liked… relevant… belonging.

This issue is coming to the forefront… This expectation of be made important, liked, relevant, belonging by other people, or by some job, of by association, or by some success.

Or to be liked by behaving in a certain way, be liked by other people because of something you do or don’t do.

It is an aspect of being an effect… not a cause. Little explored by anyone.

You are either in the world of because or you are cause… BE cause
