Mental toughness, your TLB… and desire traps

TLB is your Twitchy Little Bastard score. Mental toughness, AND high TLB is the difference between a reactive, undisciplined, five year old who cannot see past the next five minutes, and a person (whatever age) who can actually see and act conscious of the consequences of their action or inaction.

Tai Lopez calls these according to names of the Greek philosophies that reigned around the time of Seneca the Elder: the Stoics, and the Epicurians.

If you gobble up a cheese burger, you are an Epicurian who can’t see where eating that toxic stuff will leads you… fat, poor, sick, and wanting more.

If money burns a hole in your pocket… you are probably living the Epicurian lifestyle. You can’t stand not having your phone with you, ditto.
You dream of instant success, instant weight loss, instant love… you are an Epicurian… and a TLB 1.

Mental toughness and your TLB: your twitchy little bastard score… and desire traps

Before I say another word: if you don’t read, you don’t belong here. If you haven’t read Margoczi’s two books (both are on Amazon) then read them ASAP. If you have read them: read them again. They have 30% truth value, which is about the highest you can get anywhere…

Stoic vs. Epicurean… Will you get unstuck from the desire trap.

Imagining, the desire trap is an Epicurean way of living. You imagine what you want, enjoy the pleasures from it, and never invest in a future where you could actually have, in reality, what you wanted.
I just finished Step 10 of the 67 steps… this is my tenth, maybe eleventh round through the 67 audios. It’s given me, so far 26 months of being light on my feet… instead of flat footed.

I have changed a lot in these 26 months. I changed, but more importantly, what I see, what I CAN see has changed.

If you have a hard time fixing your attention on something…

I noticed something this morning.

If you keep your attention on your results
If you think that your results will prove that you are smart, etc.
If it is important to you that you look good/you are considered smart

Then you will be unwilling, or at least reluctant to look long enough so you can see, in a chess-like manner, where a series of steps take you.
You will be stuck in the fixit mode… where every trouble will require a silver bullet, a big red button, a one size fit all solution.
Examples:
Example 1: This guy moved house. He got busy building an addition, now he is building an outdoor fire pit, while he is low on energy, languishes, and complains.
He and his wife decided to try meditation. He wants to do it so he can direct his attention.

How the Avatar State Activator takes you to the plane of abundance

Everyone wants stuff, it seems we live in the age of wanting. Strong wanting. Desperate wanting. All consuming wanting.

Billionaire Charlie Munger says: Everybody wants the good life but not everybody gets the good life. “To get what you want, you have to deserve (earn!) what you want. The world is not yet a crazy enough place to reward a whole bunch of undeserving people.”

And deserving is being at the right place at the right time with the right attitude, doing the things that earns the stuff you want. Health, wealth, love, and happiness.
Earning it.
If I asked you what you do to earn what you want, you would say “nothing,” or you would say “I do this and that.”

…and when I ask you: how much of this and that do you do, timewise? we would find out that mostly you just think about it. Fantasize about it.

I remember as a child I fantasized a lot about how I was going to spend the million bucks I win on the lottery. My brother is not a child (he is 65) but he still does exactly that…

For years I supported him and his family, financially, and he never appreciated it. Why? Not because he is a bad person, and he may be a bad person… My contribution paled in comparison to the millions he fantasized about.

He wanted millions, and he was unhappy with my meager contribution to him… like 90% of humanity. 90% in the same trap. The technical term for that wanting is “the desire trap”.
We live in an age of wanting, we live in the age of the Desire Trap.
You don’t even know what you would have to do, how much and with what attitude to actually earn what you want. Your wanting is just that… a gnawing dissatisfaction, with zero foundation in reality.

Life can be lived on two distinct planes (paradigms), the horizontal plane and the vertical plane.

Wanting keeps you squarely on the horizontal plane, the Valley of The Shadow of Death… every day you get one day closer to death, you are in a hurry, to avoid death, to avoid pain, to avoid discomfort, to avoid getting older.
You even do spirituality on the horizontal plane. You act how you think spirituality is… or should be.
Here is an email showing what I mean:
I see Orbs with me all the time, my outdoor cameras capture amazing Light Beings, since April I am able to feel the vibration from crystals and before that I feel vibrations from trees, especially if they are really old. At times I can feel their emotions. Wild cats come to me especially when I am sad or vibrating high.
Or your health:
I am very healthy and do not contract cold/flu. I’ve been sick once in the last few years. My skin is glowing. My hair lustrous. My skin on my body very soft to the touch. I am 42 but look much younger. I’m lean and fit. My body does not look it’s age or even close to my age.

Could you please explain this to me?
None of it is what spirituality or health on the vertical plane are.
On the vertical plane you see rightly. You see reality the way reality is, no distortions. No pr

“You have to have vision”… what does it even mean?!

You have to have vision… you read it in memes, in articles, but you don’t know what vision is, so how can you have it, right?

I have students, friends, who think they have vision for themselves, but what they have is the desire trap syndrome: they see pieces of the future that they want. They can walk around in it, enjoy it, embellish it, feel it, dream about it. Fly the private jet to have breakfast in Bombay, or drink margaritas on the pristine white sands of some private island.

Feelings, emotions… what should you do with them?

Most people have one or two tools in their tool box… And what is even stranger: they don’t want any more. Why?

Some of you cannot deal with complexity, and therefore you will deny your right to feel feelings. And some of you will indulge your feelings and never look, never ask any probing questions that could let you see what is really going on…

What am I talking about?

In the Playground program, always starting new groups, we attempt to bring clarity to life, we attempt to reclaim our power over our lives by separating what life seems to be, what seems to be happening in many different ways. One of these is having a “reality” side, everything a Martian could see or detect, and another that is all words.

Desire trap… or how desire takes you out of the present moment.

Desire and ITCH are largely the same state… neither can be fulfilled, neither allow you to be happy… ever.

I speak about this in quora.com
http://bit.ly/quoraupvote –>

How do you get rid of a desire? You can only suppress a desire for so long. How can I search and destroy the root of the problem?

To begin: the question shows that you have a desire to be desire-less… as far as “bad for you” desires go… very funny.

There are no desires that are good for you.
