Context, Mindset, Backdrop… why should you care?

Context, Mindset, Backdrop… why should you care?

This is going to be a mind-bender, and at the end of it you’ll come up a lot smarter, and with a lot more power over your life… interested?

It is all about mindset! Context is decisive… and what the heck is a backdrop?

Let’s start with backdrop. Why? Because it’s the easiest to see what’s going on.

I say that the backdrop is more important than what happens in the foreground.

Someone says something to you and you are hurt.
Your boss assigns someone else to an important assignment.
Your experiment at making money with your first product is a flop.
You continually have trouble and emergency in your life.

The above statements are the foreground.

Depending on your mental attitude (mindset) you say it’s bad, or it’s good, or you have no opinion.

So far so good… are you still with me? Good.

Do You Feel Stuck?

Do you feel stuck? Are you trying to do everything but you still are stuck at the miserable place instead of where you are your best?

If so, you are not alone.

One of my clients used to be in constant survival.

He could see that he wasn’t doing what he really wanted to do with his life.

He knew he loved to learn. He knew he loved to be in conversations about deep issues where he could distinguish, for himself and another what they were looking at, deeply, precisely and in a way that it altered life. He loved that.

And he loved teaching.

These were the activities he loved to do, and he hoped that people would, at some point, pay for it.

Stuck in a rut? Would you like to find your way out?

Stuck in a rut? Would you like to find your way out?

First off: You are not alone.

My coaches, mentors, teachers, friends, and clients are stuck too, from time to time.

Take one of my teachers: she has been dealing with some downward spirals, that completely felt as something that has no solution.

Their expensive, and almost brand new RV suddenly needed major repair, and the funds weren’t there.

To add insult to injury, there started to be some legal issues, then health issues… so it looked bleak, and devastating.

In our conversation I went through a series of tools I have in my tool-box… and when I got to the question: do you know the 9-dot exercise, the light bulb went off for my teacher, and she came up with a solution that, if not solved it, made the situation bearable.

So what is this tool box, and what do the 9 dots mean? How can YOU use this to get out of a predicament, a situation that seems to have no solution:

What prevents you from getting ahead in life? Part 1

This series of articles are exploring the hidden aspects of what holds you back from growing, from moving, from raising your vibration, from transformation, from living a life consistent with your abilities

When we look at your life, we see that there is a gap between what you are capable of, and what you are accomplishing. Especially in the areas of quality of life, accomplishment, and self-expression.

In my inquiry of what may hold you back, reason number one seems to be: you are concerned with loss… It fills you with anxiety and anguish. What are you afraid to lose? Anything and everything.

You live in a world of your own design, a world without meaning, a world of misery

If meaning makes the difference between a life worth living or not, why is it that don’t you create a meaning that makes life worth living?
You can’t, you won’t… but why? Let me muscle test!

You lack intellectual capacity? 30%
You don’t have the spiritual capacity to see the big picture in width and it time? 90%
You lack the willingness to be responsible, willingness to cause the context. 100%
You lack the courage to cause the context, or pretty much anything… 100%

Being a sheep means lack of courage, lack of vision, lack of responsibility

Stuck energy. Stinginess.

Can you change? Yes. How? Through activating spiritual capacities with practices that need that capacity.
Without meaning YOU create, life is not worth living, is a struggle, and you suffer.

Growing, transformation, hitting a wall, being or getting stuck

I am in a state that can be compared to the cocoon state. I intend to emerge on the other side as a butterfly.

Wasn’t I a butterfly before? Who knows. But humans don’t live a day or two, like butterflies, and they have more stages than butterflies.

When you grow (if you grow) spiritually your growth pattern is much like…

Depleted… One of the causes of brain fog… or foggy brain? Or brain that is not worth a dime.

You don’t have unlimited brain power.

The brain’s thinking/creative function, also choices, are located in the frontal cortex. That part is the latest addition to the multi-layered brain.

That part needs the most fuel.

People who don’t understand how their brain work will not amount to much. Their brain power will be used for mundane stuff and not for something that actually creates value for them and the world.

Using an analogy that, maybe, everyone can understand, let me use some examples that are more obvious.

If you had a quota of electricity you can use to heat your house, you would, probably, allow your hallways, your porch, your basement to remain cold, and would only heat the rooms where you spend a lot of time… or you’ll run out of electricity before you run out of time.

Imagine yourself driving down the road and you want to change lanes to the right. You look in the rear view mirror and you look in your side mirrors to make sure there are no cars. Yet there is a blind spot and you aren’t 100% sure it’s safe to move over. So you lean a bit forward – you lean a little to the right and it looks good. You check out the lane next to you from both angles. Then, signal flashing you speed up and start to steer right and just as you do – HONK!!!!

There, in your blind spot, is a car that you were about to roll right into. WHEW!

Heart racing you slow down a bit, steer back to your lane and let the car pass. Then going through the check again – check the mirrors, lean forward, lean to the right, This Time throwing a glance over your shoulder and when you are certain you’ve seen the road clearly, you switch lanes so you can arrive at your destination.

WHAT IF – you are going through your life and not seeing all the perspectives? What if?

3 Techniques to expand the limited view through which you experience life

As I have said before, your experience of life is limited, narrow, and quite defined by your culture, family, upbringing, education, and early experiences.

As long as your view of life stays the same, life will stay the same, or worse: it is a downward spiral.

So it makes sense to explore and employ methods that can expand your view of life and thus allow for a life that can go in a different direction, instead of the downward spiral.

The new worry epidemic

This article is long… the original writer was probably paid for each word… In spite of my intent to edit it, I could not make it shorter.

The gist of it is that instead of using our god given ability to think to think things through, to plan, to prevent, we use it instead to worry… Worry is unproductive and makes absolutely no difference. In fact, it makes you stupid… Very stupid, unprepared, make emotional decisions, avoid action… in simple terms, to become a Shrinking Human… instead of an Expanding Human Being.

Oh, and it also makes you sick… if being sick and stupid with worry weren’t enough.
