3 Coaches, Avoiding Confrontation, What’s Your Filter?

3 Coaches, Avoiding Confrontation, What’s Your Filter?

I now have three coaches. Three different people, three different styles, three different world views. the only thing that is common among them is that they represent a world view polar opposite to mine.

Why would I hire coaches so different from me? Because I hope that their different vantage points will make my own filters visible to me. I don’t expect them to catch my filters… but I promise I will. As soon as I see them.

Now, if you are paying attention, you should be asking, what is a filter… coffee filter, U.V. filter… what the heck are you talking about Sophie?

If you didn’t ask this question, I assert that you sleepwalk through life and “for you everything is the same as everything else… except that not always.”

Offended? Good.

Information is like milk. It tends to go bad over time

Information, knowledge, possibility, attitude, skill, capacity… they, all, in one way or another, are information. And they behave like milk. They go sour… useless… bad.

You may want to ask the question before you research, buy information, ask questions: ‘am I doing this just in case I’ll need it later or am I doing this because I need this to move forward right now.’

You need to ask this question: Are you Frank or Matt when it comes to your Self-Actualization: Becoming all you can be…

I am republishing this article from four years ago… because even though it doesn’t say “fixed mindset” and “growth mindset” it is about that…

Frank and Matt… the two archetypes of seekers in all areas of life. relationship seekers, weight loss, prosperity, mindset, spirituality… seekers are seekers!
I got an email in my inbox from a marketing teacher of mine today.

I liked the subject line. I followed the link. I found a fascinating article.

It is about marketing, or better said, two types of marketers, two types of seekers of success, one is “Frank” the other is “Matt”.

Frank and Matt are two different types of marketers. But…

The idea of Frank and Matt fits “seekers” to a T. Seekers are exactly matching the two types, they are like Frank and Matt: grabbing for a quick fix or building a path… so I want you to put aside your distaste for marketing and business, and I want you to go over to that site and read it. I mean read every freaking’ word on it. Map it on yourself. See yourself. Get justified or find out how and why you have been mislead.

TLB

The TLB score or Twitchy Little Bastard score is one of the ten Starting Point Measurements that show to what degree you are able and willing to take on uncomfortable, hard, challenging, boring, tedious tasks that are necessary for you to achieve something. It is also a reliable measure to what degree you live in a desire-trap, where the imaginings of something substitutes for the actual having the thing…

Your vibration is probably low if your TLB score is low. Why? Because raising your vibration is work: uncomfortable, hard, challenging, boring, tedious, etc.

What Is Soul? Is The Soul This Perfect Small Indestructible Ball Of Light?

What is Soul? I don’t know. Although I know a lot about Soul, I don’t know what Soul is… as much as I don’t know what Source is.

In the Old Testament the word “know” had no intellectual knowledge meaning: it actually meant “get intimate with.” Sexually, or otherwise.

You get intimate with a jacket by trying it on and wearing it for a while. Same with a pair of shoes.

Intellectual knowledge is not knowing, it’s knowing about: a world of difference.

It takes two to tango

My horoscope said this today:
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Will you be the difficult wizard, Virgo? Please say yes. Use your magic to summon elemental forces that will shatter the popular obstacles. Offer the tart medicine that tempers and tests as it heals. Bring us bracing revelations that provoke a fresher, sweeter order. I know it’s a lot to ask, but right now there’s no one more suited to the tasks. Only you can manage the stern grace that will keep us honest. Only you have the tough humility necessary to solve the riddles that no one else can even make sense of.
That is really weird timing, because for the past day I have been wondering if I am out of step with the direction society, you, want to go and therefore I am out of step with life?

Grieving The Loss Of A Child… Whether They Died Or Just Gone to Live Their Own Life. Loss is Loss…

Grieving The Loss Of A Child… Whether They Died Or Just Gone to Live Their Own Life

No matter how you slice it, a big change like this, even if it is the best of the child, is a huge trauma for the parent, especially the mother.

Most mothers are programmed to care for their young ones, but while they are doing that, they forget to be themselves, forget to rebuild a life of their own, so when the child dies, or leaves, they are left with nothing.

I have a student whose children live in other countries, you can’t just offer to drop by, bring some good home-made cooking, or babysit their child while they attend to other things.

Victim: I have nothing to say in the matter

Back in 1986 there was a seminar series, lead by no other than Werner Erhard.

I was brand new, but I was allowed to sign up. The topic was: “I have something to say in the matter”.

At the time my level of understanding was that I can change what I do, I can protest to what other people do… I did not understand that you can say something in the matter of everything that belongs to you.

Everything that belongs to you… out of which the most potent is your being. Who are you in the matter of X.

So, how does this being expresses itself, really?
